I want to know this, as well. The video was posted on June 29, 2008 - so we know it is sometime on or before this date.

The debt is still a very small percentage of our GDP. In fact, our debt has been worse (in terms of percentage of GDP) many times in the past than it is right now.

This-Single Payer Health Care– is why I voted for him and worked to get him elected. We need to keep the pressure up–after all, all of the Congressman got theirs, paid for us. By our tax money (their salaries AND their health care). Why is is OK for you to pay for theirs and you get screwed over by the insurance companies?

Too bad he’s no longer an advocate for this.

The reason why we pay so much for sickness management is because private insurance companies employ armeis of desk-jockeys whose sole job is to see if they can dely your coverage.

The whole system is designed to avoid paying for your medical care.

That’s not healthcare; that’s sickness management.

I hope Obama makes small businesses that make over 300k a year provide affordable health care to single individuals. And a retirement pension for those who worked for the company for more than five years. Its all about families, what about individuals? We get sick and old too!

Single-Payer is nationalized insurance, not nationalized care. For example, no government program will administrate facilities under the HR 676 Nationalized Insurance. Instead, it’s like Medicare for All, with the insurance commission given budgets by congress and covering all doctor’s visit fees, with exceptions like elective cosmetic surgery, which would have to be paid for by the patient.

Psyc.. he said he is a component not an opponent. He is for it. Look at Canada and Europe’s system ranking on care. We are leaps behind them in care.. Wouldn’t it be nice if you need medical attention and just get it? Look at that man who recently, accidentally cut off two of his fingers, he had no insurance. The hospital gave him a choice of both fingers, no fingers or one finger. He only had $12k I believe and could only afford one finger to be put back on! The other was thrown away.

Barack Obama does not support single-payer national health insurance. But he needs to support it, as does all politicians.

I have never understood why single payer health care is considered so controversial. Individuals and companies already send their money to be pooled with that of perfect strangers to be paid out on the basis of need. Why is it such a leap when the government collects and distributes the money (especially when advantages like universality and cost containment are factored in)?

One payer system is the only way to go.

Private health insurance is a private tyranny that only exists in United States. It’s a rather barbaric system that tells you you’re health is only worth what you can afford.

People in United States should get behind, and support, HR 676. If you don’t know what it is learn about it! GM & Ford are going bankrupt because of the rising cost of health care. If United States had single-payer system, the companies wouldn’t have to worry about it.

I don’t support socialized medicine, but it is very interesting to me that what he said at the end is happening.

Obama, No comments, I’ll give one. I liked hearing it from Obama. We need Single-payer like HR 676; Though he has to interface with other polititians, I think he really wants HR676.

There may be things I don’t like about him; but I think he has my vote. He spoke right; there is no reason why the richest nation on the planet can’t provide basic healthcare for every citizen.

    AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHT!
